The product came in as described, very fast. It is everything that I was looking for and more. I am a novice at this but wanted to give it a try. It is demanding work. Two observations the tool included to remove the C clip or E clip is probably adequate. I had a time with it, not a reflection on the product the clips are always tough to get off and put back on. The other note was that I thought the plug follower was the wrong size.. It was the correct size for the Schlage it turns out I was not using it correctly. Great product. I plan on doing every lock in my house. If you have issues go to YouTube. it is all there. No instructions in kit.

All the parts are there to be successful but you might also want a tool to remove the tailpiece nut. I have heard it called several things but you should be able to find what you are looking for. It is not required but if you are going to do a bunch of locks, it would certainly make it easier.All the pins seem of quality materials and fit without issue. No problems except the flimsy case I will likely replace.

Had to re-key 10 locks in my new house. The procedure is pretty simple with Schlage locks so I decided to do it myself. The clip removal tool in the kit was too small, and the cylinder follower tool required a LOT of grinding to make it fit correctly… Other than that, the rest of the kit worked.

The kit came three days earlier than projected, a big bonus! Worked quite well — as a first-time novice I was able to re-pin three deadbolts in an hour. Had watched YouTube videos before ordering the kit to be sure I was familiar with the complexity of the project and was very careful keep all parts secure. (Had twice ordered deadbolts for a renovation project but neither set was keyed to the requested code to match other home locks. Kept second set once it appeared possible to re-pin at home.) As other reviewers have noted, this kit is missing a key gauge and a wire tool (noted in videos) to depress the lock pin. Although it looks like the end of the Clip Removal Tool may have worked for this, I used a straightened paper clip instead. As also noted, the Follower doesn’t work well in the Schlage lock. I utilized the shaft of a 7 in 1 screwdriver being very careful to keep pressure exerted inside the chamber and against the cylinder as I removed it and re-inserted it. Would strongly encourage familiarization via YouTube videos if this is a first time attempt as well as having the video(s) available during the process. Overall, very happy with the kit and the newly acquired skill set.

I’ve watched a ton of YouTube videos on locks and re-keying, but I’ve never actually done it before. Got this kit and re-keyed my front door during a quick lunch break. (And still had time left over to eat lunch!)Update: It may help to purchase pinning tweezers. I also see several users complaining about the case itself; this is NOT a pro-level case. It should hold together fine if you are just throwing it in some corner of your garage and rarely using it, but if you throw it in a tool bag and take it around town, I’m sure it will fall apart. I had no issues with the fit of anything.

Purchased to re-key Schlage locks on all the exterior doors of the home. The kit came with enough pins to rekey 4 doors no problem and could probably do even more. The color coded pins also made it easy and fast to repeat the pattern on each of the cylinders. Before this project, I had no experience with rekeying locks. This kit made me feel like a pro in no time.

The included follower isnāt great for Schlage F series locks but can work. The included c-clip tool is also too small for the larger c-clips and has the poking tool on the other end, meaning you canāt push with your palm unless you want a hole in your palm. Pins are fine but found a few mis-sorted ones in the wrong bags. Very basic and probably mildly overpriced for what it is.

This is a great set that has everything you need for Schlage locks if you don’t have a kit together.The follower is standard sized so it confuses people. It is not meant to fit over the Schlage cylinder, the notches are for a different type of lock that has a keyway for it. For schlage you use the flat side and just follow the cylinder through.Schlage is the trickiest when using the follower, which is why this kit would be better if it included some shims. That helps with the small lip that you see on the knob cylinder. You can do this without shims though. If you are doing a knob it can be a bit finicky without a shim, but if you mess up the knob is easier to fix than the deadbolt because you can remove the spring shield and replace it quite easy.If you don’t know what you are doing, what youtube videos and lookup the schlage document for rekeying. If you are buying this and don’t have shims, consider getting some thin metal shims .001 .002 .003 inches thick, that sort of thing, especially if working on knobs or levers.
